Easy going.

5 Locks 3 Miles & 1 swing bridge. Now moored above Greenham lock.
366 locks, 509½ miles, 16 Tunnels, 8 swing bridges and 9 lift bridges since Nov 2006
Very elaborate footbridge over the River Kennet

This morning would have been ideal for a spot of painting but we wanted to get to Newbury to sort out the girls travel plans for the week-end. By the time we reached Newbury the sun had broken through and it was too warm to paint so I refilled the stern tube greaser and topped up the batteries.

The water lilies are just coming into flower on the river

The locks we negotiated today are in better condition which is a plus and made locking easier. When we arrived at the top of Greenham lock there were 2 spaces available for mooring so we grabbed them while the going was good. Just as well we did as the place we had been told to look for moorings was full. We will review the situation tomorrow as we plan to stay here until next Tuesday.
