We are a retired couple who after living abroad for 5 years are now living in Levin, New Zealand.
From October 2006 we cruised the inland waterways of Britain. We sold Narrowboat Gypsy Rover in July 2010 and continued our travels around the UK in our new Motorhome. In August 2011 we returned to New Zealand ahead of our motorhome which arrived in October. Although now land based we will be continuing our travels throughout New Zealand when time allows.

Traffic Jam at Chirk Pool
Busy on Llangollen Canal this morning with 10 boats between the aqueduct and the tunnel all waiting their turn for the tunnel or the aqueduct depending which way they were heading.
I love this picture, if you look at my blog on June 18th you will read about what happened here when we met some friends who we didn't know were on holiday here too! We found them sat on a bench overlooking the basin just to the right of the man on the towpath in your picture. I suppose that makes us gongozzlers then! I'm not sure that is a favourable term but I don't think so! Best wishes Goosey
Hi Goosey Glad you enjoy the photo.Derek is the fellow on the towpath and it is the roof of Gypsy Rover in the foreground. We were at the front of the queue. It certainly is a lovely area. Regards Dot
