12,000 miles apart

Brownsover 012 This photo was taken on New Years Eve with the Blue Moon, showing a red ring around the moon (not too clear in the photo sorry) caused by ice crystals in the Cirrus clouds.

This was taken at Paekakariki, New Zealand almost exactly 12 hours earlier by our friends Robin and Jenny.  What a coincidence?

When you think of it, isn't it wonderful that we can see the same moon half a world away! The two photos look great together.

Happy New Year to you both.

Hi Jenny and Robin
Just shows what a small world we live in really. Thanks for the rally schedule, see you then.
Enjoy the sunshine, it is now snowing here.

Hi Derek and Dot,
Glad to hear that you're not totally iced in. We spent New Year's Eve in Shropshire and our granddaughter Lucy took a picture of the fabulous blue moon whilst we had a BBQ in the garden - pictures not yet loaded onto blog but I am catching up slowly! Happy New Year to you both.

Hi Carol and George
Glad you had a great New Year with family and the rest of the year goes as you've planned. We are off to NZ for a month in April to spend some time with ours. Hope to catch up for a chat sometime later this year.
