Scotland – 20 hours of Daylight!

Since being in Scotland we have found it hard to get used to the fact that it doesn’t get dark until about 11.30pm and it’s daylight again by about 3.30am, barely four hours of darkness. We have been sitting in the motorhome thinking it’s still early when we suddenly realise that it’s much later than we had assumed. Ah well, we are not far off the longest day so things will start to change soon.

The scenery has been spectacular with so much water and not being anywhere near the coast. Hydro dams large and small just appear out of nowhere hidden away in valleys among the native bush.

Our present camp site is surrounded by hills and we were hoping we might see a bit of wildlife but as of yet we have only heard a Cuckoo and seen the rabbits in camp. These characters are completely oblivious to the campers as you can just about walk right up to them and they don’t move a muscle.
