After leaving Benmore Dam our plan was to back track to Omarama and travel over the Lindis Pass to Cromwell. We were lucky to get a site at the Rotary Glen Cromwell NZMCA. What a shame there are only a maximum of 10 sites in this huge area. We were lucky to get a couple of the sites and walked into Cromwell in the afternoon. It was very hot and dry with a strong northerly whipping up the dust.
