Hydo Electric Dams and all.

After the three of us had emptied all the relevant tanks we were on our way to the NZMCA camp in Waimate. This meant driving down to Omarama and then past the hydro lakes of Benmore, Aviemore and one other I can’t for the life of me remember.

We pulled in and had lunch at Aviemore Dam where there is a large carpark alongside the dam before continuing over the Kurow bridges and heading for Waimate.

One of the two bridges at Kurow was a bit scary, think it needs some maintenance don’t you?Tonights tea? Maybe Safely parked up in the Waimate NZMCA camp close to town set amidst a very flash subdivision.
