Wow, what a fantastic place, Teschemakers just south of Oamaru is set in 70 acres of land and is an old Catholic boarding school for girls run by the Dominican Nuns. We are lucky enough as NZMCA members to stay overnight for a modest fee.
We were shown through the chapel and main building by John the owner. The main building was fully restored after a disastrous fire which engulfed the main building in 2003. The Fire Brigade spent all their efforts to protect the Chapel with great success.
Beautiful interior with imported Italian Marble.
